March 19, Friday  - Girls Night Out, Jackson, TN
Girl Scouts is more than just cookies! Grab a friend and get ready for a night out with the girls. Girls will view a thought-provoking film and discuss it over snacks with other girls. Girls 13 years and older are encouraged to participate and bring their ideas with them. Girls will study a film related to everyday cultural and global issues! The Kappa Deltas at Union University are hosting this Girl Scout pathway series. This is the first of an ongoing series. The next Girl’s Night Out event is scheduled in April.

March 20, Saturday – Memphis Grizzlies Dance Team Clinic, Memphis, TN - CLOSED 3/5/10
Dance the day away with the Memphis Grizzlies Dance Team. Members of the dance team will teach the girls some smooth moves and an exciting routine that will be sure to rock the FedEx forum when the girls perform their routine before the game. After the Dance Clinic join us in cheering on the Memphis Grizzlies as they face-off against the Golden State Warriors in an action packed fun-filled battle for a win.

April 10, Saturday – Sky’s the Limit, Memphis, TN
Sky’s the Limit is an aviation program designed to engage girls in developing skills and interest in non-traditional careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Girls will participate in hands-on aerospace activities, experiments, interactive discussions and demonstrations guided by women involved in various aspects of aviation and other female professional mentors that have strong backgrounds in STEM. They will have the opportunity to plan flight paths, develop map-reading abilities, learn aviation related weather patterns as well as other aviation activities while building teamwork, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Calling all girls who want to travel deep into the woods and experience a camping trip like no other. The trek will include (but not be limited to) backpacking, hiking, and cooking in the beautiful Sipsey Wilderness. Backpacking equipment is provided. You will need a compact sleeping bag, water shoes, money for Sunday lunch at fast food. Fee includes meals on Saturday breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner; Sunday breakfast, equipment rental and camping fee.

Ladies and girls, come enjoy a weekend of fun just for us females. Have you ever wanted to visit Kamp Kiwani and enjoy the Girl Scout camp experience? Has your daughter ever wanted you, or a grandmother, aunt or other female adult to go to camp with her? Come out and join us for a weekend of crafts, hiking, canoeing (weather permitting) and fun. We’ll conquer the High Tree Trek, Gorge Traverse, featuring miles of cable and wood bridges and zip lines crisscrossing back and forth over the gorge and ranging in heights from 50 to 100 feet! CEO Camp is a wonderful way for 24 teen Girl Scouts to exclusively engage with approximately 24 of Tennessee’s and Mississippi’s most accomplished top women executives during a weekend at camp. They’ll get an inside look into the women’s successful careers, including challenges they faced, choices they made, and skills they developed. Sessions focus on building leadership, professional skills, personal finance, and positive self image. Selection will be based on civic and community involvement, demonstrated leadership, character, and citizenship. Applications will be available on our web-site early February. This session is designed for those who want to take their troop/group to a camporee, Service Unit campout or council campout or an indoor camping facility, like one of our lodges.This training is designed for groups attending events were there is food service. You will not be trained on fire building or outdoor cooking. Training is approximately 4-6 hours.Each person will need comfortable clothing, shoes suitable for camping.

April 9, Friday to April 11, Sunday – Advanced Cam0/Backpack License – ABL, Jackson, TN
The ADVANCED CAMPING/BACKPACKING TRAINING qualifies a person to take a group/troop on a hiking/backpacking trip to primitive areas where there are no bathroom facilities or provided water. We will show you proper equipment use, waste disposal, water filtration, map and compass skills, emergency procedures, and meal planning. The training will consist of a prep meeting overnight and one night on the trail. We will start at the Service Center, and then travel to “Land Between the Lakes” in Tennessee. Equipment is included in the cost of the training. TCL (Former 105) is a pre-requisite for this course.

Give girls an opportunity to attend their place of worship and be recognized as a Girl Scout. If a place of worship is the group sponsor, girls may perform a service, such as greeting, ushering, or doing a flag ceremony. These days can also be a time when girls learn about other faiths.

March 20, Saturday – Girl Scout Night with the Memphis Grizzlies, Memphis, TN
Join us in cheering on the Memphis Grizzlies as they faceoff against the Golden State Warriors in an action packed fun-filled battle for a win. We have teamed up with the Memphis Grizzlies to put together a unique experience filled with exclusive events that will feature Girl Scouts and our troops. Girl Scouts will be showcased singing the National Anthem, performing the flag ceremony, participating in the fan tunnel, and in being recognized for outstanding community achievements at Center Court. Wear your Girl Scout gear and bring your family and friends to enjoy the fun. Two complimentary tickets will be given to every troop who brings a minimum of 10 girls and/or adults in their group. Complete an Event Registration form to order your tickets.
A portion of ticket sales go to Girl Scouts Heart of the South.
